Who runs this, and why
Plain answers to the questions you should be asking of any site telling you who to trust.
What this site is
LocksmithNJ is a consumer reference resource for the New Jersey locksmith market. It publishes guidance on how to verify a locksmith's state license, what common lock and key work should cost, and what New Jersey law requires of a licensed locksmith.
What this site is not
It is not a locksmith. It holds no New Jersey locksmith license. It performs no lock or key work, employs no locksmiths, and dispatches nobody. There is deliberately no phone number to call for service, because there is no service to call for.
It also does not sell your information. There is no lead form, no intake questionnaire, and no arrangement to pass your details to a contractor. If you email, that email reaches a person who answers it, and it goes nowhere else.
Who operates it
Optymizer operates this site. Optymizer is a digital marketing company. It is not a trade business and does not hold trade licenses in any state.
Why it exists
Locksmith services are one of the most persistently defrauded categories in local search. The pattern is well documented: a call center answers with a local-sounding number, an unmarked car arrives, a quoted price of thirty dollars becomes several hundred once the lock is drilled, and payment is demanded in cash.
New Jersey is unusual in that it licenses locksmiths, through the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. That license record is public and free to search. It is the single most useful thing a consumer can check, and almost nobody in this industry is motivated to explain how.
A marketing company is an odd author for that guidance, which is precisely why this page says so plainly. Judge the material on whether it is accurate and useful, and check the citations, which are on every page for that reason.
How to correct something
If something here is wrong, out of date, or misleading, say so and it will be fixed. Prices move, statutes get amended, and state lookup tools change their interfaces. Email offer@optymizer.com.
This is not legal advice
Everything here is general information about publicly available rules and typical market prices. It is not legal advice and does not create a professional relationship of any kind. For a specific situation, particularly a landlord and tenant dispute or a contested charge, talk to a lawyer or to New Jersey legal aid.
